Погляди на інституціональну теорію та практичне використання її складових при формуванні державної політики розвитку у різних сферах суспільного життя. Характеристики поняття інституцій як поширеного феномену у соціальній, політичній й економічній сферах.

Вимір того, наскільки успішно реалізуються ці функції інституцій у конкретній країни, є предметом постійної уваги політиків, учених, експертів, бізнесу. Одним з індикаторів інституціональної спроможності країн є «інституціональна відстань», що забезпечує широкий погляд на національні контексти, розглядаючи не тільки культурні, але й регуляторні та когнітивні елементи. Подібні індикатори також дають змогу зосередитись на динамічних аспектах контексту, відображаючи важливі інституціональні зміни, у тому числі, в Україні. З урахуванням цього, попит на подальші теоретичні та практичні дослідження інституціональних відносин лише поширюється.
