At present the British royal family is headed by Queen Elizabeth. The Queen's husband is Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He served in the Royal Navy.

The Queen's other children are Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. The Queen's heir is Charles, Prince of Wales, who married Lady Diana Spencer and has two children, Prince William and Prince Harry. The Prince of Wales is well-known as a keen promoter of British interests.

His wife Diana, Princess of Wales, won the affection of many people by her modesty, shyness and beauty. Unfortunately, she died in a car accident in August, 1997. Now Charles is married again.

Prince William is the Queen's grandson. William married Catherine Middleton on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey. There exists a centralized national system of education in Australia. The top of this system is the Federal Ministry of Education.

There are two types of schools in the country: state schools and private schools. Tuition in state schools is free of charge. Private schools charge rather high fees. 80% of Australian children go to state schools, and only 20% attend fee-paying schools.

School education is obligatory for all children from 6 to 15 years. At present the school education scheme is “6+4+2” or “7+3+2”. Most children begin primary schools at the age of 5. Primary schools include from 1 to 6 or 7 grades.

After the primary school children pass to the secondary school without examinations. Junior high schools comprise 4 or 3-year courses. After these courses students complete two year senior high school.

After senior classes of secondary schools students may enter any higher educational institution in the country. University admission is only after the senior secondary schools. Canada Lynx is a mammal species belonging to the cat family. Their body grows somewhere between 31 inches and 41 inches (80 cm and 105 cm) with a 10 to 15 cm long tail. These animals usually weigh between 18 and 24 lb (8 kg and 11 kg).

These animals are found in the forests of Canada and Alaska. Their location also includes many US states like Washington, Montana, Oregon and Idaho.

They have quite an interesting behavior pattern:

· Like many other lynx species these animals are mostly nocturnal. However, they may be active any time of day.

· They usually hunt by ambushing the prey.

The predators of this lynx species include bobcats, wolves and coyotes.

Here are some interesting facts about this amazing lynx species:

· The long legs of these animals can support twice as much their body-weight.

· Mother Canada Lynxes bring food for their cubs and allow them to play with foods before eating to train them for hunting.

· Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London.

· Big Ben was founded on 10th April 1858, the Great Clock started working on 31st May 1859.

· The bell itself is officially called the “Great Bell”, but gets its nickname from Sir Benjamin Hall.

· The tower is officially known as Elizabeth Tower, renamed as such to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.

· The size of Big Ben is 96.3 meters (315.9 feet).

· To reach the top one must climb 334 steps. There is no elevator installed.

· Big Ben's clock is the biggest four faced clock on the planet. The hour hand is 3.2 m (8 feet) long. By contrast the minute hand is 4.3 meters (14 feet) long.

· Each clock face has an inscription in Latin in gold that reads “DOMINE SALVAM FAC REGINAM NOSTRAM VICTORIAM PRIMAM” or “Oh Lord, keep safe our Queen Victoria the First”.

· The clock and dials were designed by Augustus Pugin.

· The clock mechanism itself was designed by Edmund Beckett Denison, who was not actually a clockmaker, but a lawyer.

· Every year the clock is adjusted using an old English penny. If the clock is running fast, a penny is added to the pendulum. If the clock is running slow, a penny is removed from the pendulum.

· Six million people visit London each year, and most of them will visit Westminster and see the clock tower.

Ole Einar Bjoerndalen is a Norwegian biathlete. For many years he has become a real symbol of the sport. Ole Einar is the most titled athlete in history of the Winter Olympic Games. He has 133 World Cup victories. He is the holder of the greatest number of awards (13) in the history of the Winter Olympic Games in all sports.

At the age of 44, biathlon legend Ole Einar Bjoerndalen tried to participate at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. With eight gold medals, he is already the most successful winter athlete in the history of the Olympics.

“I might be a little bit crazy. But even though I've been training hard for years now, I'm still enjoying it. So why should I hang up my boots?”

A question by Ole Einar Bjoerndalen - a man, who collects records like others collect stamps. Ole Einar Bjoerndalen's first World Cup season was 25 years ago, and his first Olympic Games were in Nagano, almost 20 years ago.

When it comes to training, Bjoerndalen is a perfectionist who works hard like nobody else. Everything in Bjoerndalen's life revolves around biathlon, even his private life. His first wife was biathlete Nathalie Santer, from South Tyrol. They divorced in 2015.

On July 16, 2016, he married his current wife, the top Belarusian biathlete Darya Domracheva. The couple's daughter, Kseniya, was born on October 1, 2016.

Only four months after the birth - on February 12, 2017 - both parents won a World Championship medal on the same day in Hochfilzen, Austria. Perfect for Bjoerndalen, the King of Biathlon: “I can do everything I did before and still spend time with my family.”

Even at his first Olympic Games in 1998 in Nagano, Bjoerndalen won gold - the first of eight biathlon Olympic victories in total. He has won an incredible 20 titles and 45 medals at world championships in total. That's why the talented Norwegian is called the “King of Biathlon” and “Great and Terrible”. Construction of the park began in 1998, as well as construction on Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and the Paradise Pier Hotel. Construction was completed by November 2000. The opening of this park was planned February, 8, 2001.

The park consists of several themed lands all devoted to California's cultural history. The lands are Paradise Pier, A Bug's Land, Grizzly Peak (formerly Golden State), Condor Flats, Buena Vista Street (formerly Sunshine Plaza), Cars Land, Pacific Wharf, and Hollywoodland (formerly Hollywood Pictures Backlot).

Some examples of the park lands.

Paradise Pier is one of the main lands of the park. The area is themed off of the classic Disney characters, authentic California boardwalks, and California piers. The area has its own man-made lake (Paradise Bay) and the area has changed in the past few years because the area was affected hugely as part of the expansion.

Grizzly Peak, formerly Golden State, is the center of the park. It is themed off of California's history and state parks. In the center is Grizzly Peak, a mountain shaped like a bear, which is the park icon. Now, Grizzly Peak remains a single land, home to exciting thrills and adventures for guests to challenge.

Hollywoodland, formerly Hollywood Pictures Backlot, is themed off of Hollywood present-day and in the 1930's. It has a sub-section called Hollywood Studios, which has a backlot that is home to several of the area's attractions and rides.

As part of the final phase of the expansion, Cars Land opened on the old Timon parking lot. The theme of this area is Radiator Springs, California, the fictional town featured in the 2006 film Cars, and the 2011 film, Cars 2 (Интернет-портал Disneyparks: [сайт].
