Orville and Wilbur Wright were two American brothers, inventors and aviation pioneers who are credited with inventing and building the world's first successful airplane. wright aviation aircraft air airplane
The Wright brothers were two of seven children born to Milton Wright and Susan Catherine Koerner. Wilbur was born near Millville, Indiana, in 1867; Orville in Dayton, Ohio, in 1871. Both brothers attended high school, but did not receive diplomas. The brothers never married.
In 1878 their father, who traveled often as a bishop, brought home a toy "helicopter" for his two younger sons. Wilbur and Orville played with it until it broke, and then built their own helicopter. In later years, they pointed to their experience with the toy as the initial spark of their interest in flying.
So, the brothers had been interesting in flights since childhood. They tried to develop and make flying device several times. Orville and Wilbur gained the mechanical skills by working for years in their shop with printing presses, bicycles, motors, and other machinery. Originally they made 3 airplanes (in 1900, 1901 and 1902). The brothers persistently worked chancing constructions of the airplanes again and again. They achieved necessary lifting force and controllability.
Their invention became famous in 1909, when Wilbur flew at New York City's Hudson-Fulton celebrations, circling the Statue of Liberty and making a 33-minute flight up and down the Hudson River alongside Manhattan in view of up to one million New Yorkers. These flights solidly established the fame of the Wright brothers in America.
Wright's airplane become the basis for all modern aircrafts. Of course this invention is improved. Now there are a lot of kinds of planes. Civil aviation is developed due to the Wright's invention. And we can't imagine our life without flights!
