Взаимосвязь скорости, взрывной мощи и силы плеч между баскетболистами и гандболистками - предварительное исследование
Целью этой работы было сравнить характеристики физической подготовки, такие как скорость, взрывная мощь и сила плеч, у университетских баскетболистов и гандболисток. Это было перекрестное исследование, в котором приняли участие 30 игроков мужского пола: баскетболисты (n = 15) и гандболисты (n = 15) в возрасте от 18 до 21 года. Результаты тестов на физическую подготовленность отличались (р < 0,05) у игроков в период между играми в баскетбол и гандбол. В результате был сделан вывод о существенной разнице между баскетболистами и гандболистами в скорости. Таким образом, было доказано, что гандболисты играют быстрее, чем баскетболисты. Результат также показывает, что между баскетболистами и гандболистками не было существенной разницы как по взрывной силе, так и по силе плеч. Эти результаты могут прояснить, на какие физические способности в наибольшей степени влияют занятия тем или иным командным видом спорта, а также помочь тренерам, специалистам по физическому воспитанию и спорту выявлять талантливых подростков.

Abstract
The objective of this work was to compare the physical fitness characteristics of speed, explosive power and shoulder strength between university basketball and handball players. This was a cross-sectional study of 30 male players as follows: basketball players (n = 15) and handball players (n = 15), all between 18 and 21 years of age. The physical fitness tests differed (p < 0.05) among players between basketball and handball games. The result was concluded that the significant difference between basketball and handball players on speed. Hence it proved that Handball players are fast game players than the Basketball players. The result also shows that there was no significant difference on both explosive power and shoulder strength between basketball and handball players. These findings may elucidate which physical abilities are most impacted by the practise of a particular team sport as well as help trainers and physical educationist and sport professionals identify talented adolescents.

Introduction
Handball is a strenuous contact Olympic team sport that places emphasis on running, jumping, sprinting, arm throwing, hitting, blocking, and pushing. It's a team sport which requires a high standard of preparation in order to complete sixteen minutes of competitive play and to achieve success. In this game, movement patterns are characterized as intermittent and change continuously in response to different offensive and defensive situations in which anthropometric characteristics and high levels of strength, muscle power, and handball throwing velocity are the most important factors that give a clear advantage for successful participation in elite levels of handball leagues. From this, it is believed that to improve their handball performance, elite level players must arrange specific handball conditioning with some additional resistance, as well as sprint and endurance training.
Similarly the Basketball is also a contact Olympic sport that emphasis on running, jumping sprinting, shooting and pushing. These teams have more close relationship between physical fitness variables.
Hence, to increase our knowledge of elite performance in male basketball and handball, and to collect up-to-date data related to high-level male players, more investigations need to be undertaken. This knowledge could be used by coaches in order to make better selection of players and to design training programs according to the specific needs of each player.
Statement of the Problem. The purpose of the study was to compare the selected physical fitness variables between basketball and handball players.
Hypothesis. It was hypothesized that there would be significant difference on selected physical fitness variables between basketball and handball players.
Methodology
Selection of Subjects. The study was conducted on 30 male players out of which 15 were basketball players and 15 were handball players. Their age ranged from 18 to 21 years.
The players were selected from Pondicherry region and they were represented for inter university competitions.
Selection of Variables. The physical fitness variables were selected for this study is 1) Speed; 2) Explosive Power; 3) Shoulder Strength.
Selection of Test. The following tests were used to test the variables they are:
- Speed - 50 meters run (in seconds);
- Explosive Power - Vertical Jump (in centimeters);
- Shoulder Strength - Pull ups (in numbers).
Experimental Design. The researcher has selected 15 handball players and 15 basketball players from the Pondicherry region university players. The group A was consider as basketball players and the group B was consider as handball players. basketball sportsman speed shoulder strength
The study was formulated as static group comparison design.
Collection of Data. The physical fitness variables were tested to the selected basketball and handball players.
All tests were standardized test on each variable. The raw scores on these variables are recorded.
The paired «t» test was used as statistical application and statistical analysis obtained from the data were interpreted with the results.
Analysis of data: The data were analyzed and is presented in the below table.

The required table value is 2.048 with 28 degree of freedom.
The above table shows that the mean value on speed for the basketball and handball players was 8.32 seconds and 7.17 seconds. The calculated «t» value between basketball and handball players is 8.775, it was greater than the required table value 2.048 at 0.05 level.
The result indicates that there was a significant difference between basketball and handball players on speed.
The above table also shows that the mean value on explosive power for the basketball and handball players was 71.27 centimeters and 70.87 centimeters. The calculated `t' value between basketball and handball players is 0.238, it was less than the required table value 2.048 at 0.05 level.
Similarly the mean value on shoulder strength for the basketball and handball players was 15.4 numbers and 16.8 numbers; it was also less than the table value. Both the variables result showed that there was no significant difference between basketball and handball players on explosive power and shoulder strength.

Conclusions
With in the limitation of the study and on the basis of the obtained results from the study, the following conclusions have been drawn.
1. From the results it was concluded that the significant difference between basketball and handball players on speed. Hence it proved that Handball players are fast game players than the Basketball players.
2. The result also shows that there was no significant difference on both explosive power and shoulder strength between basketball and handball players. It means that similar abilities found on explosive power and shoulder strength for basketball and handball players.
The finding of the present study very well supported by the researchers [1-3, 5].
Recommendations. On the basis of observations and conclusions drawn from this study, the following recommendations were made:
1. This study proves that the handball game is the fastest game than the basketball game.
2. Both the team players had similar abilities on explosive power and shoulder strength, so that same type of training programmes are applicable to both the teams.
3. From this study it was proved that the handball game is the fastest game, the trainers should give more attention on speed as the essential physical fitness. So that, much importance should give to the handball players on speed parameters.
