Тема урока английского языка: "Holidays"

Вид урока: урок обобщения знаний по теме «Вот это праздник!»

Цели и задачи урока:

Учебные:

повторение лексики по теме;

расширение и систематизация лексического запаса;

развитие навыков монологической и диалогической речи;

развитие умения понимать иноязычную речь;

активизация в речи грамматического материала (умения задавать вопросы);

совершенствование фонетических навыков.

Развивающие:

развитие критического мышления;

развитие творческих способностей;

расширение кругозора;

развитие памяти и сообразительности.

Воспитательные:

создание условий для формирования способности к критическому мышлению и атмосферы психологического комфорта;

воспитание чувства сопричастности к мировой культуре;

воспитание толерантного отношения к традициям представителей других культур, причастности к традициям русской культуры.

-But what is the theme of our lesson? I'll help you. Let's start with the warming-up exercise that is somehow connected with our theme.

- We also have another rhyme that is closely connected with the theme of our lesson.

Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat

Please put a penny in the old man's hat

If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do

- So, who can now tell me what the theme of our lesson is? Can you guess?

What holiday do people celebrate in English-speaking countries?

What holidays do we have in Russia? (When do Russians celebrate Christmas?)

What is your favorite holiday?

3. Основной этап

- During the holidays we do a lot of things. We sing songs, listen to music, dance, eat something tasty and so on. Let's revise other verbs in a game Bingo. You know the rules very well, that's why let's start.

- dance, eat, drink, cook, listen to music, come, buy, play, sing, give, take pictures, watch TV, colour, write, talk.

- Well done. Take your seats. You'll meet these verbs in our next task. Look at the blackboard. Make phrases from the words you see.

- Let's continue our theme and talk about 3 popular British holidays. We have 3 groups. I'll give each group a piece of paper with the holiday you'll tell us about. The task of each group will be to use the matching words, concerning your holiday, remember what we've already know about this holiday and to answer three questions:

When do people celebrate this holiday?

What is the symbol of this holiday?

What do people usually do on this holiday?

- I invite here the leaders of each group. Choose any piece of paper. Now you know your holiday. You have 3 minutes for this task.

- So, let's start with your mini-projects of holidays. The leaders are welcome to the blackboard.

- Do you agree?

- To sum up everything we've said about 3 holidays let's do cinquains. Each group will do the cinquain about the holiday you've told us about. You have 4 minutes.

- What cinquain do you like most of all?

- As you know, people have a lot of fun during holidays but can be tired and need a rest. Let's also have a rest.

- Now we are going to watch projects about your holidays you've maid at home. But first, let's remember how we can say something in future. We'll need this tense because you'll invite us to your holidays. Don't forget that Englishmen sometimes use «shall» for pronouns «I», «we». But nowadays there is a tendency to use will for all pronouns.

- Exchange your tests. Let's check your answers. Look at the blackboard. Those who has no mistakes show me green cards. Those who has mistakes show me red cards.

- Now you are welcome with your presentations.

- What festival would you like to go to, Ivan? Why?

- Thank you for your presentations. They all were very interesting. We found out a lot about your int. and fest. you would like to visit.

4. Подведение итогов.

- Our lesson is coming to an end. Open your day books and write down your home task. It will be the following. At home you should write 5-7 sentences about your favorite family holiday or write a cinquain.

- Children, help me please and tell me what we have done at our lesson today?

- You are right. How can you assess your work? If you think everything was perfect show me green cards. If you suppose that you've worked not very well - yellow cards, and if you've worked bad, on your point of view - red. Do you like today's lesson?

- Ok. You've been working hard.
