The competition theme in our country is very actual. In modern conditions the competition acts as a key category of market relations. It is a basis or a reference point in understanding of a way of functioning of the market, showing, as the competitive firms movable by motive of profit, answer changes of the prices for their production and used factors of manufacture. The competition also induces manufacturers to improve quality of the goods and constantly to increase a variety of the offered goods and services. The problem of competitiveness of the Russian goods remains sharp till this day, that is why, competent policy of the state directed on control over import of the goods and assistance to the home producer therefore is necessary.
The aim of this research is the studying of competitive relations in the Russian Federation and the search of the decision of problems of formation of the competitive environment. In connection with this purpose the following problems have been put:
- To study the essence of a competition;
- To analyse and estimate the current competitive relations in the territory of Russia;
- To reveal the ways of the decision of the basic problems of competitive relations in territory of our country.
For the decision of the first problem we have studied the works of the modern and foreign scientists devoted to the given problem. There is a set of concepts of the term "Competition". In my opinion, the most capacious definition is given by Adam Smith. Competition-is an economic rivalry, competitiveness of the isolated commodity producers and consumers for reception of the maximum income. A.Smith figuratively named this process "an invisible hand" of the market due to which, the egoistical promptings of separate individuals to reception of own economic profit attends to the whole society, also serving economic progress. On scales of development the competition can be: individual, local, national. On the character of development the competition can be: free, regulated. On conducting methods: price, not price. On a branch accessory of the market: intrabranch, interbranch. Depending on market subjects participating in a competition: buyers, sellers. As there is a competition: unfair, diligent, business, functional, specific, subject.
Solving the second problem, we have studied the data of the official statistics. During the last years Russia has shown an impressing success in the macroeconomic policy. The country endures one of the most safe periods in our contemporary history. Growth of incomes of export provides the demand maintenance in home market and the general economic growth. The Key competitive advantages of the Russian economy remain the industrial and scientific potential; the qualified manpower; favourable geoeconomic and geopolitical positions (communication of the EU countries and АТЭС); presence of large sources of natural resources (energy carriers, oil, gas, metals, etc.).
Undoubtedly, we agree with A.A.Kartashev that the basis for the solution of a problem of formation of the competitive environment is created by a policy of the state in this area. Here are the decisions of the existing problem: 1., the support of the high technology sector by the state has The Great value
2. The Creation of the system of privileges for the business executives applying new technologies, raising quality of production, increasing sales volumes of production abroad. competitiveness domestic products

The Support and the help should be consisted in development and strengthening of the information base of the consumer market; creation of possibility of certification and quality assurance of the goods and simplification of their procedure; maintenance of observance of requirements of the law with all participants of market relations.

Only due to the listed above, it is possible to expect the refusal of inefficient, semilegal and unfair forms of competitive behavior in the market, increases of the civilized and diligent forms of a competition in the consumer market of the country from subjects of the market.
