The electronic resource "Outstanding Educators of Ukraine and the World" is a unique specialist resource which has no analogues. The resource has an educational (pedagogical) vector and it is a significant contribution to the development of education, pedagogy and pedagogical biography; it contributes to the restoration of the national pedagogical memory. The resource can serve as a basis for scientific research on the history of education, pedagogy, history, culturology, biographics, biobibliography; for expansion and updating of the content of training courses in pedagogy; for development of special courses in the history of education in Ukraine in pedagogical higher education institutions, in the system of retraining of pedagogical staff, for writing textbooks and manuals on the history of education, pedagogy and reference books.

We believe that the information and bibliographic resource of the SSPL needs further updating, taking into account the new achievements of the Ukrainian and foreign historical and educational as well as historical and biographical studies, the development of digital technologies and services. The dynamic development of the resource, in our opinion, will be facilitated by the functional, structural and content-related features identified in the course of a comparative analysis of the world electronic biographical resources, which allowed determining the relevant and future-oriented tasks. Among them: 1) to increase the number of hypertext links and enhance multimedia by adding video, audio (sound effects and sound accompaniment), photos, animation, etc.; 2) to deepen the hypertextuality and interactivity of interaction with the content of the resource; 3) to update and improve the method of digitization of documents, primary sources, providing users with free and multilingual access to collections of important cultural, historical and educational importance (rare and unique publications). In order to present to a wide international audience the information about prominent Ukrainian educators and researchers it is decided to fill it with the English- language content - one of the priorities of its development. These and other aspects will be the basis for further scientific research of the development of the national specialized biographical information and its integration into the world biographical space in the context of a rapid development and implementation of digital technologies.
