Laryngeal zed vowels and laryngeal zed consonants in the history of the Totonac an languages of Mexico

These sound changes can be explained as being due to different mechanisms of glottalization regarding of consonants. Apapantilla Totonac and Zapotitlan de Mеndez remain conservative in their treatment of the original Proto-Totonacan laryngealized vowels.
