- N + N. For example: cross-examination, manslaughter, malpractice, lawsuit etc.
- Affixed nouns: N + suffixes -tion, -sion, - er, -ment, for example: desertion, intrusion, indictment, abandonment, intruder, Constitution, etc.
- Prefix re- + N + suffix -ment, for example: readjustment.
Prefix over- + V, for example: to overrule
Multicomponent (consist mostly of two components) word-combinations with noun law terms are classified as following:
- N + N. For example: Bill of Rights, presumption of innocence, estate lawyer, separation agreement, etc.
- Adj + N. For example: sexual harassment,eviction file, parental right, direct examination, conclusive proof, etc.
- Num + N. For example: the Fifth Amendment, the Sixth Amendment, the Eighth Amendment,etc.
- V + N. For example: to neglect children, to dismiss charge, to reach a verdict, etc.
