The analysis of the development scale of the agricultural sector and basic industries of the western regions of the Ukrainian SSR at the end of the 1960s - the first half of the 1970s, the planning drawbacks of the central state and party authorities.

A promising direction for further research is the analysis of working conditions and material support of workers and peasants of the Western Ukrainian region during the socalled developed socialism.
